The Lowe's door
You bought the plan from Lowe's, but Lowe's does not run it. An Assurant-family company does — Federal Warranty Service Corporation in most states — and the fight is governed by a terms document most holders never read. That document is harsher than Home Depot's in one place (the lemon count) and more generous in two others (rental money, a repair-delay payment), and it hides a deadline that quietly eats a 30% payback. This page is the door.
| Where you live | Plan provider (all Assurant family) | Claim route |
|---|---|---|
| Most states | Federal Warranty Service Corporation | lowesprotect.com or 1-888-77-LOWES (56937), 24/7. Plans can take up to 3 days to appear in the portal after purchase. Underwriter: American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida. |
| Oklahoma | Assurant Service Protection, Inc. | |
| Florida | United Service Protection, Inc. |
One exception: water-heater plans in California are provided by Lowe's itself. The terms call the plan a service contract, not insurance — but it is insurance-backed, which is why your state insurance department and the Florida OIR take complaints about it.
Defects and — Lowe's stresses this — normal wear and tear, plus power-surge damage; parts and labor included. Excluded: accidental or intentional damage, abuse, unauthorized repair, theft and loss. Replacement, when it comes, is at the administrator's sole discretion and may be a new, rebuilt, or refurbished product; the payment is capped at the original Retail Cost, and a replacement ends the contract — coverage does not transfer to the new product.
Start with the not-fixing page, count your case in the checker, and if the stall passes a month, go to the regulator door — in Texas that's TDLR; in Florida, the OIR.
Count your own case. The free checker takes your store, your plan date, your repair history, and your dates — and returns your lemon count, your live clocks, and the money the plan owes. Run the checker →
The pages above are the map. The kit is the paperwork: the repair log that proves the count, the script for your administrator, and the complaint pack for when the stall continues.
One payment, yours to keep. We never ask for your store or plan-portal password — you file everything yourself. See everything inside the kit →
