We re-check the plans' documents on a schedule — and we show our work.
Every rule on this site traces to a plan document, a brochure, or a terms sheet, checked Oct 20, 2026. Administrators change (Best Buy moved its plans from one administrator to another in 2025 — these companies rotate), prices move, and wording shifts between document versions. This log records what we verified and what we corrected.
| Date | What was checked | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Oct 20, 2026 | Home Depot appliance protection brochure (official, homedepot.com) — lemon rule, $300 spoilage, 30% no-claim reward, speed guarantee, plan prices | Verified against the published brochure; prices and benefits as stated on the hub and money pages. |
| Oct 20, 2026 | Home Depot coverage-details page vs SquareTrade standard US terms — lemon framing | CONFLICT DOCUMENTED: coverage page says "during the protection plan term"; standard terms say "within any 12-month period." Both published on the count page; the checker surfaces both. |
| Oct 20, 2026 | Lowe's Terms & Conditions (ELPP0009S-1219) — lemon definition + exclusions, 14-day payment + fridge exclusion, rental 25%, spoilage $300, payback 60-day window, 90-day defect notice, replacement-discretion language | Verified against the full terms text, including the express exclusion of "no fault found" diagnoses from covered repairs. |

| Oct 20, 2026 | Secondary-source error sweep | Third-party articles misstate Lowe's spoilage as $100 (terms say $300) and simplify the Lowe's lemon rule past its own definition. This site follows the primary documents wherever they conflict with summaries — including ours. |
