The loop

Lowe's plan isn't fixing your refrigerator. Count the case the terms count it.

One documented holder spent eleven weeks without a fridge: a reimbursement promised by email, a claim that turned out to be "lost," and a runaround between Lowe's and Assurant the whole way down. Another was told by email her dead fridge had been repaired. A third counted six service calls and still no replacement. The fridge fight is the worst version of this plan — you cannot live without the appliance — and it is governed by numbers almost nobody is told.

Why the fridge fight is different at Lowe's

The count, with the trap named

Lowe's lemon clause requires three covered repairs on three separate occasions, plus a fourth repair required, and then pays up to the original Retail Cost plus tax. The trap is in the definition: a covered repair does not include diagnosis, customer education, telephone troubleshooting, alignments, cleanings — or a "no fault found" diagnosis. The holder with six service calls may have a lemon count of two. That is not a loophole in your favor or theirs; it is the rule, and the only defense is a log that records what each visit actually did. The no-fault-found page is the full decode.

One more quiet clock: the terms require notifying the administrator of the defect within 90 days of discovery. If you have only phoned, put it in writing today.

When the stall passes a month

Escalate the claim you have — a fresh claim restarts the story and can bury the count. In writing: the count (repairs, dates, what each did), the claim's age, the rental and spoilage claims by name, and a demand for a written determination. If the answer stalls again, the regulator door is next: TDLR in Texas, the Office of Insurance Regulation in Florida, your state insurance department elsewhere. The regulator page maps them, and the checker counts your case in one pass.

Count your own case. The free checker takes your store, your plan date, your repair history, and your dates — and returns your lemon count, your live clocks, and the money the plan owes. Run the checker →

The working papers for this fight
